Biyoteknolojik \u00fcr\u00fcn dedi\u011fimizde canl\u0131 organizmadan elde edilen \u00fcr\u00fcn anla\u015f\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Biyolojik sistemlerin ve ya\u015fayan organizmalar\u0131n teknolojide kullan\u0131lmas\u0131 ve bunlardan yarar sa\u011flanmas\u0131 biyoteknolojinin temelini olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r. Sa\u011fl\u0131k alan\u0131nda, kimya end\u00fcstrisinde, g\u0131da ve, tar\u0131m alan\u0131nda, elektronik, madencilik, ka\u011f\u0131t end\u00fcstrisinde, enerji alan\u0131nda ve \u00e7evre sa\u011fl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n korunmas\u0131 gibi pek cok alanda biyoteknoloji kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. \u00d6rne\u011fin; y\u0131llard\u0131r fermantasyon ile \u00fcretilen peynir, \u015farap, alkol, fumarik asit, klasik biyoteknolojinin ba\u015flang\u0131c\u0131n\u0131 olu\u015fturmaktad\u0131r. Sa\u011fl\u0131k alan\u0131nda ise DNA&#8217;n\u0131n yap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131 ile rekombinant DNA (rDNA) teknolojisi, monoklonal antikor teknolojisi, hibridoma teknolojisi ve gen tedavisi geli\u015fmi\u015f; yeni ila\u00e7lar ve g\u00fcvenilir a\u015f\u0131lar \u00fcretilmeye ba\u015flanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Kanser, AIDS, viral enfeksiyonlar gibi hastal\u0131klar\u0131n ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131yla da biyoteknoloji geli\u015fmi\u015ftir. Form\u00fclasyon ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar hastal\u0131\u011fa y\u00f6nelik olmaya ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Biyoteknolojide kullan\u0131lan \u00fcr\u00fcnler y\u00fcksek spesifik aktiviteli, yan etkileri az maddelerdir. Biyoteknolojik \u00fcr\u00fcnlerin giderek artan \u00f6nemi bu \u00fcr\u00fcnlerin analiz edilmesini de \u00f6nemli k\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Biyoteknolojik \u00fcr\u00fcnler elektroforez, spektrofotometrik, kromatografik, kolorimetrik ve immunolojik y\u00f6ntemler gibi pek cok de\u011fi\u015fik y\u00f6ntem ile analiz edilebilir.
